Agriculture Reporter

We're looking for an energetic, insightful and versatile reporter to cover agricultural commodities in Sao Paulo. You'll be a go-getter, who has a wide network of sources (or is keen to build one) to break news and write in-depth stories about this booming industry in Brazil.
The role also offers the opportunity to connect the dots between markets, the economy and politics as well as dig deeper into the environmental and sustainability challenges many of the companies trading these products face. You will be required to produce stories across all our platforms, from the Bloomberg Terminal to social media and our magazines. You will also be expected to cut through jargon to tell stories to wider audiences and work with the bureau in Brazil on local and regional stories.
We'll trust you to:
- Break news on the biggest companies that trade and produce these commodities.
- Have or build a wide network of sources that you can tap at short notice.
- Write both short
- and long-term form under tight deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across the newsroom.
You'll need to have:
- A minimum of 5 recent years of experience in financial journalism.
- A track record of breaking news.
- A keen interest in the topic.
- Portuguese is a must, Spanish a plus.
