Join to apply for the Senior Software Development Engineer role at MongoDB Overview The Web Experiences team at MongoDB owns the platform and experiences for our flagship website, We build global web experiences that help MongoDB connect with developers and technology leaders around the world, using reusable systems and components to scale our impact, including design systems, authoring tools, localization pipelines, form processors, experimentation systems and personalization workflows. This role is part of the MongoDB Web Experiences team and reports to the Engineering Manager. This is a Senior Software Development Engineer role for the mongodb.com Web Experiences team. The role may be based remotely in Brazil or Mexico, with the option for a hybrid work model if near one of our office locations in these regions. What you will do Balance priorities between technical leadership and system architecture (roughly 50%), and hands-on work (remaining 50%) on multiple web applications and systems Support the Engineering Manager in quarterly planning for platform and innovation-heavy initiatives Partner with the Engineering Manager, Product Manager and Scrum Master to help manage Agile sprints Lead complex projects either individually or with small working groups of two or three engineers, depending on scope Participate in product and architecture discussions and write technical spec docs for large projects Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, design, publishing, SEO, analytics and infrastructure teams to turn requirements into technical specifications Provide thorough code reviews, write technical documentation, and recommend improvements to code, infrastructure and development processes Manage and optimize CI/CD pipelines for rapid and reliable deployments Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues Provide technical mentorship to entry-level and mid-level engineers Promote engineering best practices and serve as a role model Participate in on-call rotation with other full-time engineers Qualifications 7+ years of professional experience building production-ready web sites or web applications, including 2+ years in a medium to large enterprise Proficiency in modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks, preferably Next.js, React, Express and Node.js Strong experience with CI/CD deployment pipelines and monitoring using services such as Drone, GitHub, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes Experience with a headless CMS (Contentstack or similar) Experience building optimized, performant, resilient, and scalable global websites across the full stack Ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced, agile environment Experience mentoring junior engineers Experience writing and reviewing technical specs Track record of developing, releasing, and monitoring complex features Excellent problem-solving, written and verbal communication skills Experience working remotely with globally distributed teams Experience with Jira and applying SCRUM/Agile principles Experience with AI coding tools and a desire to utilize them for efficiency Nice-to-have Experience with CMS migrations Contentstack experience would be a bonus Knowledge of UI/UX best practices Experience in both large enterprise and startup environments Experience with on-call rotations Company culture and accommodations To drive personal growth and business impact, MongoDB commits to a supportive and enriching culture.
