FM is seeking an Engineer with maintenance, equipment, or electrical experience within the Chemical industry to join our South American Engineering Team. The role involves remote work from your home office when not in the field.

As a Consultant Engineer, you will leverage your engineering expertise to help clients prevent potential disasters, saving property and businesses. With nearly two centuries of experience, you will work with some of the world's most influential organizations to understand risks and protect assets.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate the integrity and reliability of equipment, identify hazards and deficiencies, and deliver risk improvement solutions.
- Use operating standards, data sheets, and guides to provide risk guidance and implement best practices.
- Prepare engineering reports and loss expectancies to support risk improvement efforts.
- Collaborate with Operations Engineering, Client Services, Account Management, and Underwriting on Boiler & Machinery recommendations.
- Manage time effectively and work independently from a home office setting.
- This is a field-based role requiring travel to large industrial client sites to evaluate operations, identify risks, and hazards. Expected overnight travel is 75 to 100 nights per year.
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, or chemical engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years’ work experience in a relevant field.
- Based in the Sao Paulo area.
- Experience in high-hazard industries, preferably in the Chemical sector.
- Hands-on experience with machinery and equipment.
- Strong communication skills, proficiency in MS Office.
- Analytical, organized, with problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
- Results-driven with self-learning capabilities.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written); Portuguese is preferred.
- A valid B1/B2 USA visa is desirable.
