Shipbuilding Technician

Our station is responsible for shipyard activities in Brazil, including onshore inspections and surveys. In this context, DNV is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Onshore Inspection Technician to perform surveys at the shipyard.

Job Activities May Include:

• Hull and Structure Inspections;
• NDT Supervision;

Position for Itajaí / SC

Position Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Technical degree in Shipbuilding, Marine Structure or Steel Hull Inspection Qualification;
• Previous experience in shipyard activities;
• Active CRT/CREA;
• Knowledge of ship structure and equipment;
• Knowledge on hull structure failure modes;
• Knowledge of relevant shipbuilding rules, regulations and technical criteria;
• Previous experience or interface with Classification Society is desired;
• Must have written and verbal English and Portuguese communications skills, including ability to write technical reports and emails;
• Availability to work occasionally extra hours;
• Hold a valid driver license is desired;
• Digitalization mindset;
• Ability to learn technical concepts;
• Attention to details;
• Physical abilities necessary to perform regular function of the job.
