We are currently seeking an Emerging Technology Engineer who’s passionate about innovation, forward-thinking development, and turning new technologies into real-world business solutions. This role blends hands-on full-stack development with the mindset of a developer advocate—driving adoption of tools, leading technical initiatives, and keeping our tech stack on the cutting edge.
What You'll Do
As a part of the Intelligent Information Management team at BerkOne, the Emerging Technology Engineer has a platform-agnostic mindset and is driven by outcomes and innovation, not brand preference, and brings a deep understanding of systems architecture across environments. Their flexibility and curiosity allows them to integrate, adapt, and advocate for the best technologies to meet evolving business needs
You’ll Be Expected To

• Research and evaluate emerging technologies (including AI and cloud solutions) to identify opportunities for innovation.
• Design and develop proofs-of-concept for internal evaluation and demonstration.
• Integrate new tools and platforms into our tech stack in alignment with architectural standards.
• Serve as a technical advocate—providing guidance, training, and documentation to teams across the organization.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to support successful rollout and the adoption of modern technologies.
  

LOCATION + SCHEDULE

• Remote Opportunity
• Must be willing to travel to Bethlehem, PA office for onboarding and infrequent on-site meetings (less than 10% of time)
• Full-time Position: Day Shift, Monday – Friday

Requirements
The successful candidate is highly self-driven as they will operate at the forefront of emerging technology where direction is often ambiguous. Success in this role depends on the ability to take initiative, explore independently, and turn innovative ideas into practical solutions.
The Emerging Technology Engineer brings a unique combination of technical expertise and strategic thinking. They are:

• A Technical Expert: Has deep hands-on experience with full-stack development, cloud platforms, AI/ML tools, and modern DevOps practices.
• A Strong Communicator: Able to clearly explain complex technical concepts and generate enthusiasm across teams for new tools and approaches.
• Collaborative & Cross-Functional: Skilled at partnering with developers, architects, and business stakeholders to support seamless adoption and integration.
• An Experimenter & Problem-Solver: Comfortable testing new technologies through proofs-of-concept and adapt quickly when things don’t go as planned.
• Strategically Minded: Keeps business goals in focus and recommends solutions that align with both technical architecture and organizational strategy.
  

EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field, and
• Minimum 5 years of experience in full-stack development, including backend, frontend, and database technologies; or
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
