The Strategic Communications segment serves as trusted advisors to management teams and Boards of Directors seeking to seize opportunities, manage crises, navigate market disruptions, articulate their brand, stake a competitive position, and preserve their permission to operate. Services of the Strategic Communications segment include financial communications, corporate reputation, and public affairs, with specialty offerings that include M&A communications, crisis communications, issues management, litigation communications, corporate governance, shareholder activism, proxy advisory, restructuring communications, employee engagement, change communications, strategy consulting, research, as well as digital and creative communications.**
**A Day in the Life of a Director**
**As a Director in Strategic Communication, you will **provide senior-level counsel and assist clients in developing multi-faceted communications, public affairs, and advocacy strategies to assist them through current events and prepare them for the future. A successful Director will be confident in an entrepreneurial environment, have the ability to secure and build strong client relationships, develop new business opportunities, stay abreast of industry developments, as well as help continually innovate the firm's offerings.

**Client Delivery**
- **Provide expert communications and/or advocacy counsel to clients in line with their respective business priorities.**:
- **Support clients as they carry out internal analysis and planning processes, develop their public messaging, and engage in stakeholder management at the local, national, and regional levels.**:
- **Manage overall quality and delivery of work on multiple accounts **in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- **Oversee client budgets and business strategy.**
**Business Development**
- **Generate and lead new business development efforts.**:
- **Identify emerging opportunities to add greater value for clients.**:
- Possess, develop, and maintain relationships with applicable trade associations, journalists/media outlets, think tanks and relevant industry leaders to enhance and grow business.
**Leadership**
- **Effectively lead account teams on complex client communications challenges.**:
- Actively manage, develop, **inspire, and motivate staff to excel.**:
- **Anticipate potential challenges and evaluate strategies with senior management.**:
- Help clients identify and escalate risks in order to act and communicate with integrity.
- Understand and live by FTI's values, Code of Ethics and the Strategic Communications Rules of Practice, and work with junior staff to embed these concepts within the firm's culture. **What Are We Looking For?**
- **Bachelor's degree in Communications, International Relations, Law, or another relevant field.**:
- **7 years of relevant experience **developing and executing public affairs strategies, either at an agency or in-house, or comparable experience in stakeholder management activities at governmental or regulatory agencies.
- In addition to Portuguese, fluent English. Spanish is a plus.
- **Superior strategic thinking, writing, **and presentation skills required.
- Ability to work under pressing deadlines across multiple projects.
- Track record of managing communications with multiple, high-ranking stakeholders.
- Travel required to clients and to FTI office(s)
