Job Description The regional managing editor leads and manages a team of price reporters and team leaders across related commodity areas. Accountable for developing and executing the regional strategy, the role contributes to the global strategy and implements Fastmarkets’ growth plans. The position balances market coverage with the creation and maintenance of high‑quality content and commentaries that support pricing services, engages with market participants to drive adoption, and manages administrative responsibilities while fostering a high‑performing, collaborative team culture. Principal Accountabilities Uphold the integrity of prices by serving as a role model for the price development process; ensure team leaders and reporters adhere to the process during price launches, amendments, and discontinuations. Build trust and drive usage of our prices by championing our IOSCO‑compliant approach, ensuring the team understands and follows all pricing methodologies and audit processes. Adopt and drive the LPDA (Launch, Promote, Defend, Attack) approach to price development and engagement campaigns. Coach editors and collaborate with the editorial operations team to continually improve content quality, promote value‑added reporting, and highlight expertise. Lead market engagement through meetings and events focused on price adoption; share insights with stakeholders to uncover opportunities. Manage regional team responsibilities and diary, ensuring a robust back‑up system for coverage during leave or travel and coordinating with other teams as needed. Balance market coverage responsibilities, overseeing others’ pricing and editorial work to ensure strategic alignment. Coordinate cross‑functional, cross‑departmental and cross‑regional collaboration, breaking down silos and enriching content or pricing coverage. Partner with other managing editors to facilitate staff development and retention, maintain a positive culture, and champion Fastmarkets’ MAGICC values. Support recruitment of high‑calibre candidates, develop and retain talent, and promote cross‑commodity and cross‑discipline moves where desirable. Key Interfaces Reports to the global editorial director for the relevant vertical, providing strategic input and contributing to cross‑functional initiatives. Manages price reporters and team leads to implement Fastmarkets’ PRA approach. Works closely with global editors, managing editors and the price development team on developing and prioritising price benchmarks, products and market coverage. Actively engages with industry participants to gather insight, gain feedback and promote quality of prices, providing a consistent flow of feedback to all stakeholders. Collabora­tes with Editorial Operations to ensure content is produced in line with PRA strategy and style guidelines. Engages with other leaders to develop and promote prices and content where there are cross‑overs, coordinating with the market development team to highlight new or emerging opportunities. Fosters positive relationships with Strategy, Marketing, Product and Events teams to assist with promotion of products and services. Full understanding of Fastmarkets’ prices as benchmarks; experience with high‑pressure benchmark markets is welcome. Track record of strong leadership skills: able to plan, motivate, delegate and achieve results through teams. Experience recruiting, training and mentoring a team to meet and exceed Fastmarkets’ standards for pricing, content and market coverage. Experience managing people managers and coaching them to drive performance within their team. Experience in market engagement, including organising roadshows, webinars, external meetings and speaking at events. Ability to manage a budget and prioritise resources to achieve efficiencies and deliver results. Operates at the highest levels internally within a matrix management structure and with external stakeholders. Manages multiple projects simultaneously with a clear, coherent vision. Supports risk and compliance audit activities; ensures the team is comfortable with all processes under review.
