Candidates must be fluent in English, submit applications in English, and be currently living in Brazil authorized to work in Brazil. Responsibilities Using university and department-level procedures and materials to mentor and teach students. Gaining and retaining an in-depth knowledge of the curriculum and assignments students are completing each week. Applying authoritative content expertise to respond promptly to student questions and concerns. Serving as the facilitator of the learning process by supporting students through posts/announcements, emails, occasional one-on-one virtual meetings, and videos. Communicating regularly with students regarding their participation and performance, and carrying out outreach efforts. Developing genuine and meaningful relationships with all students through regular and consistent communication. Using department-created and curated training materials, procedures, and systems to prepare and execute appropriate class-wide, group-wide, and individual outreach plans based on student trends and needs. Showing consistent and timely responsiveness to students who respond to targeted outreach. Tracking communication histories and meaningful interactions with students, and planning follow-ups at appropriate intervals. Participating occasionally in training exercises and/or training meetings to receive additional guidance and feedback. Applying feedback received through training and evaluation to improve performance. Qualifications Deep understanding of and commitment to BYU Pathway Worldwide’s mission and student population. Fluency in English and Portuguese. Adaptability to new processes, procedures, and technologies. Excellent interpersonal skills: professional, respectful, unbiased. Proven reliability and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, video conferencing, and discipline-specific software. Experience with online teaching/learning, especially with at-risk learners (preferred). Specific Course Requirements A master’s degree in a computer science or related field and two years of professional web development experience is preferred; a bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of work experience may be considered. Experience with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON required. Understanding of web design principles and basic web development concepts. Experience with version control (GitHub) and code editors (VS Code). Experience with browser tools (Chrome Developer Tools). Ability to communicate clearly in writing. Document Requirements Official transcript (histórico escolar) of a completed bachelor’s or master’s degree. Copy of diploma (front and back) showing the date of degree completion.
