About the role

As a SDET Engineer, you’ll own building and driving a modern testing culture. You’ll design and evolve automated testing frameworks, guide developers in adopting a shift-left approach, and ensure quality is integrated throughout the development lifecycle. By combining Python expertise with testing excellence, you’ll help deliver reliable, scalable software.

What you will do
  • Become the first SDET in the team and define how we approach testing
  • Drive the testing infrastructure and ensure high-quality standards across our product
  • Mentor and support developers to take ownership of their own testing
  • Collaborate with engineers to co-own and write automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end, performance)
  • Promote a shift-left QA mindset, embedding testing throughout the development process
  • Continuously improve testing practices, tools, and processes to increase efficiency and reliability
Must have
  • Strong experience of at least 4 years as a Python engineer (building production systems)
  • Proven track record designing and implementing automated testing frameworks
  • Hands-on experience with unit, integration, end-to-end, and performance/load testing
  • Product-focused mindset with curiosity about the bigger picture
  • Proactive, takes ownership, and responsible for outcomes
  • Bias for action: able to quickly test, iterate, and decide
  • Scrappy mindset: delivering business value over unnecessary perfection
  • Ability to thrive in a fully remote, collaborative environment with honesty and candor
  • Full overlap with Eastern European Time or at least 6+ hours
  • Upper-Intermediate English level
Nice to have
  • Experience with Python web frameworks (Django, FastAPI)
  • Frontend testing approaches and frameworks (Vue.js or React)
  • Early-stage startup experience
  • Experience building with LLMs or agentic AI systems
  • Leadership experience
