Responsibilities & Role As a Senior Backend Developer, you are an innovative thinker with a "can-do" attitude. You will work with teams across the company to leverage technologies that support our backend applications. Your work can include new features, enhancements, and resolving defects for web, mobile, and IoT solutions. Those things are important because our products impact people’s lives. Every day, you’ll be coding and asking questions that clarify scalability and user challenges. You will be part of an Agile environment working with a team of talented engineers, product owners, and stakeholders continually developing, deploying, and testing application software. To be successful in this role, you must know how to create functional, maintainable, and scalable code in an object‑oriented fashion. You are happy to do hands‑on coding and development in Java alongside a team of coders. Your experience allows you to act as a mentor to junior developers. What You’ll Work On Responsible for developing software application solutions for the organization’s external and internal clients. Developers may be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC). Developers work with clients, product managers, analysts, architects and engineers to plan, design, develop, test and implement information technology solutions consistent with the business objective. Developers may develop and review requirements, create design documents, write programs, package, test, configure and deploy software. Developers also participate and collaborate with other stakeholders including security, quality assurance, training, project management, engineering, hosting, procurement when required to assist in other aspects of their projects. Developers at the organization are expected to be results‑oriented, have knowledge of new and legacy technologies, have knowledge of the relevant platforms and environments, and be familiar with business processes, functions and data within their domain to provide innovative, insightful, and secure solutions. Qualifications Education: Desired BA/BS degree – or equivalent in education and experience. Experience: No previous professional experience is required. Functional Knowledge: Requires conceptual knowledge or theories and practices and procedures within a discipline. Business Expertise: Applies general knowledge of business developed through education or past experience. Problem Solving: Be able to use existing procedures to solve standard problems; analyzes information and standard practices to make judgments. Interpersonal Skills: Communication – exchanges straightforward information, asks questions and checks for understanding. Work Environment & Culture Have courageous team collaboration.
