**Electrification Engineering**
**What's the role?**
The role will be reporting to the Brazil Offshore Engineering and Wells Technology Manager, the Electrification Senior Research Engineer will be responsible for supporting the development and maturation of subsea and topsides power solutions to be deployed in Shell or none operated Assets, with focus in working with external development partners, guiding them through the Technology development process and ultimately deployment.
The Electrification Senior Research Engineer will be leading a Portfolio of Technology Projects in the Offshore Electrification area, including projects in subsea power transmission and distribution with different archetypes such power hubs, microgrids and power from shore; the qualification of components such as subsea power cables, marinization of subsea equipment (transformers, VSDs etc.) are essential components within these Technology Projects. Another important area for Technology development and maturation is Renewable Power Generation and Storage as well as optimization of Topside's power use (e.g., spinning reserve).
The accountabilities include meeting the ANP Levy regulation requirements, investing in R&D and Technology development to maximize the value and benefits for Shell, supporting R&D technology projects in connection with prioritized technology challenges/needs and new technology trends (digitalization, decarbonation, etc). Accountabilities also include delivering "End to End" technology solutions in collaboration with assets and partners and executing projects through cross disciplinary natural teams.
Responsibility also includes maintaining strong collaboration and alignment with global Deep Water Technology Platform leads and HSSE leadership, requiring a Learner's mindset to drive continued improvement in HSSE behaviors internally and externally.
Strong experience in Project Management is essential, the role is responsible to lead scoping, planning and execution of Offshore Electrification Technology Projects and provide operators/content knowledge and technical advice to external partners in academia and service companies.
Key roles include:
- Lead the technical and HSSE management of relevant service provider and university contracts and support the contracting and procurement strategy.
- Collaborate with contractors regarding performance, safety, variances, etc.
- Drive the identification, development, and implementation of new technologies for a cost/carbon competitive upstream to support energy transition and distribution, especially in electrification of the offshore operations.
- Responsible for managing budget, schedule, contract, and supplier interfaces.
- Develop and deploy technologies in Operated and none Operated Assets in Brazil (closely working with Petrobras and Shell assets) and identify global replication opportunities (working with Global Subsea Power Technology Community).
- Meeting ANP levy regulation requirement /compliance and improving efficiency.
- Implement / Practice new ways of working (commercial thinking, agile, and system engineering).
- Opportunity to work on projects in other natural teams in areas of decarbonization and energy transition.
