As an airline, safety is our most important principle. Our Corporate Safety team ensures safety is prioritized in every action we take. From conducting flight safety investigations and educating pilots on potential safety threats to implementing medical programs and preventing employee injuries, our team plays a crucial role in maintaining a safe and successful airline for our customers and employees.
Corporate Safety
Our Corporate Safety department manages medical programs, workers' compensation, and supports employees dealing with injury-related absences. They conduct flight safety investigations, educate pilots on safety threats, and oversee the emergency response team.
Job overview and responsibilities
This role acts as the link between field operations and the occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS), ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) plans, programs, and procedures. The role involves interacting with frontline employees and operational leaders to promote compliance.
· Participate in implementing local OHS programs and procedures, ensuring departmental compliance. Monitor daily activities and report OHS non-conformities to the SESMT Coordinator and leadership.
· Collaborate on occupational risk studies, accident investigations, and risk control measures; perform daily OHS services, maintaining compliance and identifying discrepancies with policies and legislation.
· Develop and deliver training, campaigns, and awareness initiatives; conduct inspections and monitor corrective actions. Mentor the Internal Accident Prevention Committee (CIPA) and participate in related committees.
· Supervise the Fire Brigade's work, conduct drills, and support emergency activities. Assist other departments with waste management, environmental licensing, and liaising with environmental and airport authorities.
This position is offered on local terms. Expatriate assignments and sponsorship for visas are not provided.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent
· Occupational Safety Technician diploma
· Driver's license category B or higher
· At least 5 years of experience and solid knowledge of OHS legislation
· Active registration with MTE to qualify as an Occupational Safety Technician within SESMT
· Legally authorized to work in Brazil without sponsorship
· Fluency in English and Portuguese (spoken and written)
· Successful interview completion required
· Reliable and punctual attendance essential
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience or education in environmental management
- Experience managing NR35 and NR33 regulations
- Knowledge and experience in OHS within the air transport industry
