Senior Backend Engineer (PHP / Laravel) — Location: Brazil (Remote).

Our trusted high-growth healthcare technology partner is seeking a talented Senior Backend Engineer (PHP / Laravel) to join their dynamic team. This innovative company is dedicated to revolutionizing the healthcare industry through cutting-edge technology solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Platform Development: Spearhead the development and optimization of our EHR platform using PHP / Laravel, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
  • Database Development: Creating database schemas that represent and support business processes.
  • API Development and Integration: Develop and maintain APIs for internal and external use, facilitating seamless integration with other healthcare systems and third-party services.
  • Security Compliance: Ensure the platform\'s compliance with healthcare industry standards, including HIPAA, by implementing and maintaining robust security measures and data protection protocols.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Mentor junior developers, stay abreast of new technology trends and evaluate their application to continually innovate and enhance the platform; participate in the agile development process, contribute to sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives; collaborate with the design team to refine the platform\'s user interface and experience, implementing responsive and intuitive frontend functionalities using modern JavaScript frameworks.
Competencies / Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in PHP / Laravel and MySQL; familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git.
  • Experience: At least 5 years of backend development experience with a proven track record of developing and maintaining scalable web applications. Experience in the healthcare sector or EHR platforms is highly desirable.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to tackle complex problems, think analytically, and develop innovative solutions.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: A strong focus on code quality, adherence to design specifications, and a commitment to creating a user-friendly, secure, and efficient platform.
