What will you do?

At Powertrain Engineering you will contribute to the transformation of Volvo Group, transport industry and society in general.

As Group Manager for Product Management, you will be responsible to drive the development of solutions through Volvo DVP process, based on business strategy and technology roadmaps, contributing to deliver complete powertrain solutions (QDCFS - Quality, Delivery, Cost, Features and Sustainability), as contracted on product development initiatives.

As part of Complete Powertrain department, you will work with various departments to identify opportunities and solutions, promoting integration and collaboration across the organization, within and outside Powertrain Engineering. You will be the Product Owner for the Complete Powertrain.

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Manage the Projects Portfolio under PE Curitiba scope, including responsibility for the associated budget and resource allocation.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration across GTX functions to support the portfolio execution, fostering strong alignment and teamwork.
  • Coordinate simulation, data analysis, and system validation at the complete powertrain level, hardware and software, ensuring products meet technical and operational requirements.
  • In cooperation with VE, VT, CV and PE Technology areas, secure vehicle calibration and software functions operation, ensuring optimal performance and operational efficiency.
  • Support the PE Sustainability Plan through product development.
  • Secure invoiced business with UD Trucks, Volvo Penta, Volvo Construction Equipment and Volvo Buses while improving and developing the powertrain products for their applications.
  • Represent Complete Powertrain Curitiba on local and global Project Reference and Portfolio Management Teams. Support PE Product and Project Governance in general.

You will manage a team, around 10 people, where innovation and Customer focus are solid attributes. It is highly expected that you manage and mentor the team, ensuring tasks will be completed on time and within budget, in parallel with the execution of a strong competence development plan.

Cross functionality will be a trademark of your future team and their stakeholders; Project Managers, Requirements Engineers, and Hardware coordination Engineers interacting with Component and Systems Engineers, Application, Data, Simulation, Materials, Manufacturing, and Test Engineers, and Suppliers.You will be part of a global community of Product Owners within Complete Powertrain, with members in all Volvo sites.

Education and Competences :

  • Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or equivalent Engineering degree.
  • Broad knowledge and experience in the automotive industry especially within the area of Powertrain.
  • Leadership experience and competences related to people´s leading.
  • Experienced in Product Development of automotive components.
  • Good knowledge of the Product Development Cycle and Project Management.
  • Good knowledge of Simulation tools.
  • Good Knowledge of PDM documentation.
  • Good technical knowledge of the market and applications.
  • Effective communication skills both in Portuguese and English.
