Here is what project will be looking for Software Engineer and Lead role: 1.We are Java shop, and we are expecting engineers to know and use java. Someone who used Java 8/17 and sprint boot would be ideal. 2.Experience with microservices is paramount. 3.We would like engineers to have experience with database, SQL Server or Oracle would do. 4.The work is both in UI and backend, so, experience with HTML, Javascript, jQuery and Angular is needed. 5.Verbal and written communication is important. 6.We would like to add as much unit test as possible and would like to follow proper development standard. On top of these requirements, lead would have the following: 1.Experience and ability to lead 4-5 engineers and QA 2.Expertise in getting requirement, analysis it and come up with the plan to implement it. 3.Provide functional and non-functional requirements to the team. 4.Ability to provide technical direction to the team. 5.Owns the deliverable on behalf of the team Team Context Are you building a new team, or is there already one in place? - It is a new team, but we would make sure there is an on-shore team to support them. Could you share a bit about the main objective or focus of this team? - We are integrating Sardine into our application, that is the reason we are creating this team. How is the team currently structured in terms of size and roles? - It is a new team. Are there Product Owner (PO) and/or Business Analyst (BA) roles within the team? - This is technical project, and we are not hiring BA. Our hope is that tech lead would be able to translate requirements for the project. We have a PO for the project along with a project manager. How many interview stages do you anticipate? Will there be a live or asynchronous coding challenge? - There will be live coding exercise. As of now, once tech lead from the on-shore team clears a candidate, manager would meet to make sure there is no red flag. Should the candidate be proficient in T-SQL or PL/SQL, or is general SQL knowledge sufficient? - There is not much difference between T-SQL and PL/SQL. Anyone who knows ANCI-SQL should be able to pick up either version. We are on Oracle, so, we use PL/SQL. For DB access we use custom framework (no hibernate/jpa etc) Is this intended to be a long-term position or a short-term engagement? - As of now, it is short-term. Depending on the performance and budget, we would decide the long-term engagement options. Technical Details Are you looking for a Full Stack Developer with strong Java/Angular experience, or is it more of a backend-focused role with some frontend work? - Ideally, we would have full stack developers. Which version of Angular are you currently using? - Not required. Our framework is on jQuery and JSP. Do you use any additional frontend frameworks or libraries alongside Angular? - Not for Astro (Product). We are using Java8, jboss framework and jersey for API. We use springboot for some dependency injection. We also use utilizes like swagger, Prometheus, slf4j, standard utility/monitoring/logging stuff. What unit testing tools are part of your stack (e.g., JUnit, Mockito, Jasmine, Karma)? - We use JUnit.
