Pl Scientist

Research & Development Operations Hygiene Home is the R&D function responsible for global product innovation implementation, product adaptation and product innovation for local brands for Hygiene and Home brands. Teams work closely with R&D Innovation groups as well as regional and global functions on projects delivering growth of the business, protecting existing business against revenue loss, through improving product profitability, integrating formula and packaging development. The teams are associated with regional Supply and Commercial organisations and are based across five regions around the globe.- RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES:- Assume leadership for low or moderate risk R&D Operations projects in relevant categories, ensuring all required formulation, feasibility work, analysis, validation, stability testing, industrial trials and dossier preparation areperformed on time and to the required internal and external standards and market conditions;- Assist in responding to consumer complaints and quality issues, competitor challenges and legal inquiries concerning technical matters relating to products marketed within the region;- Help support Supply in production start-up, quality improvements and cost savings projects;- Collaborate closely with local marketing to provide technical expertise that supports marketing programs and toprovide local business support;- Support R&D Innovation teams by providing a clear definition of products, marketing claims and raw material requirements from a regional/local perspective and by providing technical input and support in the preparation of theclaim support data;- May act as a technical resource to help educate local functions on technology and specific products within the category;- Implement global product initiatives with R&D Innovation guidance and final approval;- Maintain good communication with marketing, supply, R&D categories and shared service functions to accomplishobjectives;- Interact with R&D colleagues to share best practices.- KEY CHALLENGES:- Support maintenance of appropriate levels of communication with all RB upper management;- Self-starting and capable of working independently;- Assist with determination of resources to support project delivery;- Good level of multi-cultural experience/understanding.PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE:- Bachelor, Master or PhD Educated to degree level (chemistry, pharmacy, chemical engineering or other relevantscience);- Experience in a FMCG company desirable;- Project management, prioritization and problem solving skills desirable;- Good formulation knowledge and understanding of chemical interactions.- KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:- Good negotiating and interpersonal skills;- Good organizational and problem solving skills;- Ability to identify and communicate risks;- Capable of building strong working relationships and strong networking skills;- Good analytical skills;- Strong intellectual curiosity, appetite for exploring new and previously uncharted territories;- Good communication skills both written and oral in English and good presentation skills;- Performance testing and market research knowledge desirable;- Application of quality, sustainability and regulatory standards.**Equality**:At Reckitt, we recognise that in real life, great people don’t always ‘tick all the boxes’.
