Position Summary (Updated)

The MSL will split their time between field-based (70%) and office-based (30%) activities.

Field-Based (70%) Activities

Medical On Call - Oncology-Hematology

The MSL will serve in a structured, scheduled system as Medical on Call, providing real-time scientific support to healthcare professionals through virtual channels in response to solicited off-label medical questions from the Therapeutic Area Specialist (TAS) -related to oncology and hematology.

MSL for Remote Regions - Virtual Medical Engagement

The MSL will function as a virtual MSL for remote areas not covered by face-to-face visits. Engagement will focus on pan-tumor oncology and hematology, conducting scientific interactions with panels of HCPs via virtual platforms. Responsibilities mirror those of traditional MSLs, with the distinction that all interactions will be remote.

The MSL will also be responsible for

• Maintaining an active panel of key PIs as stakeholders
• Acting as the primary clinical research reference for onco-hematology in the medical team
• Facilitating collaboration between pharma and research centers
• Representing medical affairs in steering committees and early ad boards
  
  

Office-Based (30%) Activities

Early Pipeline & Clinical Research Lead

The MSL will serve as the main medical liaison for early pipeline assets and clinical trial operations in oncology and hematology, supporting

• All research-related requests from RCO (Regional Clinical Operations)
• Site and country feasibility activities
• Critical analysis of feasibility and strategic clinical development in Brazil of the trial
• Principal Investigator (PI) engagement and site readiness
• Review and internal alignment on scope documents for Tier 1 studies
• Site Initiation Visit (SIV) planning and training of MSLs when delegated
• Identification of competing studies and impact on public vs private settings
  
  

The MSL involvement with the pipeline is primarily with early-phase assets, i.e., those that have not yet produced mature phase 3 data or received regulatory submission. Once such criteria are met, responsibility transitions to the DAS team.

Additionally, the Digital MSL will provide internal education and training about the early pipeline, and support strategic alignment with WW teams to engage local TLs.

The MSL will provide operational and strategic support to the DAS team

• Acting as a bridge between the DAS team and clinical operations on early-phase programs
• Strategic support according to the area's demand
  
  

Key Responsibilities

Develops trusted relationships with appropriate academic and community Thought Leaders (TLs) in Oncology and Hematology through high-quality peer-to-peer scientific dialogue in both proactive and reactive settings. The MSL will use mainly digital tools for interactions.

The MSL also participates in strategic and tactical actions with the office's medical team (on demand and under leadership of the Medical Lead, in less than 30% of total time and dependent on the Therapeutic Area and medical needs).

Medical engagement

• Effectively collaborates and engages in scientific dialogue with TLs to gain insights on clinical landscape to ensure development of a medical plan that is both product/disease area focused and translates into effective launch
• Proactively engages in scientific and clinical conversation to ensure development of a medical plan that is both product/disease area focused and translates into effective launch and LCM activities.
• Engages with medical societies, PAGs (Patient Advocacy Groups) and guideline committee members as appropriate.
• Provides training for external speakers as needed.
