We re looking for an Engineering Manager to join our team.

If you re eager to put your team management skills into practice in the software engineering field, TownSq is the right place for you This person will be responsible for the career development of all engineers on the team, continuous improvement of agile processes, and the success of the initiatives the team will deliver working closely with peers from Product and Design. We re looking for a professional who takes ownership of their leadership responsibilities and has strong negotiation skills when aligning with business requirements.

What Your Day-to-day Will Look Like

  • Actively collaborate within the Product Development trio, taking ownership of the engineering discipline and working closely with Design and Product to create the best solutions and experiences for our users.
  • Manage the career development of the engineers on your team, including creating Individual Development Plans (IDPs), conducting performance reviews, providing guidance, and holding regular 1:1s.
  • Lead the engineering team during the discovery phase of new initiatives, facilitating technical leadership involvement, being accountable for the success of each stage, and removing blockers as needed.
  • Be responsible for the teams agility, driving continuous improvement, leading ceremonies, and applying/monitoring metrics to track team performance.
  • Lead the engineering team during critical production incidents, focusing on resolving issues quickly and conducting root cause analysis afterward.
  • Communicate frequently and clearly with the team and stakeholders to share context, align expectations, and exchange information.
  • Contribute to both technical and functional decisions related to the products your team is responsible for.
  • Foster and promote the company culture within the team.

What We Expect From You
  • Comfortable working in a complex and fast-paced environment of a growing, multicultural startup-turned-mid-sized company.
  • Extensive experience with Web, Mobile, Backend, and Frontend development, as well as software and system quality.
  • Advanced English to communicate effectively with native-speaking stakeholders.
  • Strong experience with Java.
  • Strong experience with Angular.
  • Proven leadership and management experience in agile squads.

Nice To Have
  • Knowledge of distributed systems architecture.
  • Experience with Cloud Providers (preferably AWS).
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in multinational companies working with foreign stakeholders.
