Senior Ruby on Rails Developer at NousLib (remote-first team via Workana Premium). NousLib is a dating platform with over 2.5 million users , triple-digit growth, and a place in the Top 10 Lifestyle Apps in France . The app is built on Rails with a sleek mobile webview and is scaling fast across Europe, Japan, and the UK.

What You'll Build

Your first months will focus on two high-impact projects: a custom in-house customer service platform (think Zendesk, rebuilt for privacy-sensitive needs of a dating app) and a story-based matching feature where users connect through shared fantasies — match on desire, not looks.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Implement backend features in Ruby on Rails for both web and mobile
  • Design performant APIs and services that scale
  • Collaborate with frontend (Vue/React) and mobile freelancers
  • Refactor legacy logic and improve performance on high-traffic code
  • Drive technical decisions as you grow into deeper ownership
Requirements
  • 5+ years of professional experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Strong database skills (MySQL, Redis, MongoDB)
  • Solid frontend awareness (React/Vue, HTML/CSS) — you’ll interface with it, not own it
  • Collaborative mindset — you’ll work with a distributed team across LATAM and Europe
  • Familiarity with mobile (Swift/Kotlin) ecosystems is a plus
  • Self-sufficient, communicative, and product-aware
Nice-to-Have
  • Hotwire, WebRTC, AI/LLM interest
  • Experience with moderation tools, chat/messaging features, or user privacy systems
