This AVP level Unit Manager role will support the Brazil FX Operations Head, responsible for the processing of FX with risk & control activities. The role is responsible for identifying and analysing the risks in the processing environment, with an-end-to-end approach, assuring that controls are operating effectively, providing analytical support to design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks. The activities will include assisting with internal and external audits, global and regional controls agenda and regulatory reviews. The role will be also responsible for executing and coordinating activities such as optimizing business management processes, tracking of business financials, employee headcount, MCA/QAP tests/reviews and other administrative needs and ad hoc projects as necessary.
**Responsibilities**:
- Assist leadership in promoting and executing projects and business initiatives supporting the risk & controls analysis, leading actions plan and proposing recommendations to the management
Assist with FX Operations operational risk assessment, process design and execution, leading enhancements in the control environment
- Implementation of best practices for controls & supervision framework across FX product
- Conduct assessment to define and analyse potential risks, with an analytical mindset
- Assure that controls are operating effectively, providing analytical support, design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks, supporting the implementation of solutions and actions plans
- Evaluate existing processes policies and procedures to find weakness. Prepare reports and present recommendations.
- Identify and develop business opportunities, to enhance efficiency with stakeholders and clients
Assess metrics to monitor and measure the control environment of the area, escalating and acting assertively to prevent potential risks and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
- Complete financial deliverables including monthly forecasts, adjustments, reporting and ad hoc requests
**Qualifications**:
- 5-8 years of experience in a control or auditing role or significant experience and skills in operational management or project implementation
- Experience in Markets FX support areas is required.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of financial services industry, compliance standards and regulations
- Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach.
- Leadership capabilities to lead risk and controls agenda within Markets Operations and other areas.
- Seasoned communication skills in order to negotiate internally and externally at senior levels
- Ability to partner, support and influence partners to achieve high level of accomplishment and performance, addressing complex matters.
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
- Fluent in English and Portuguese, and preferably Spanish also.
**Education**:
- Bachelor's Degree/University degree or equivalent experience
- Master's degree preferred
