Climate Risk & Adaptation Advisor, Senior – Ausenco, Belo Horizonte Our team in Brazil is growing. We are currently recruiting for a Climate Risk & Adaptation Advisor, Senior position to join our Global Consulting Business line in the Belo Horizonte office. Responsibilities Develop and review GHG inventories (Scopes 1, 2, 3) for mining and infrastructure projects, ensuring alignment with GHG Protocol, ISO 14064, and regulatory requirements. Quantify and assess emissions across operations and supply chains to support baseline definition, decarbonization scenarios, and identification of reduction opportunities. Integrate GHG results into technical studies, environmental licensing, ESG/TCFD/ISSB reporting, and carbon management strategies. Evaluate climate risks for mining operations using advanced climate data and models. Interpret global and regional climate model outputs and translate them into operational insights. Develop and refine climate‑risk models tailored to mining activities and future climate scenarios. Recommend adaptation and mitigation strategies to enhance climate resilience. Monitor and report climate indicators relevant to operational risk and performance. Propose science‑based solutions to reduce environmental impact and strengthen resilience. Support internal teams through training and awareness on climate risks and adaptation. Qualifications 4–5 years of experience working with climate data and climate models, preferably in the mining sector. Strong expertise in climate data analysis techniques and climate modeling. Familiarity with climate‑change adaptation strategies, including their design and/or implementation. Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate complex results clearly to diverse stakeholders. Up‑to‑date knowledge of climate‑related and mining‑related regulations and policies. Excellent spoken and written communication skills in Spanish; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.
