Position Summary:

An enterprise SaaS company is modernizing 30+ years of legacy platforms into a unified, cloud-native ecosystem and they're building their first cross-company QA automation team to support it. This new team will own the architecture, implementation, and maintenance of a centralized automation framework that supports both legacy and modern applications. You'll work alongside senior automation engineers, collaborating directly with QA and dev leads across seven product lines. Initial focus will be on building out the framework, integrating with CI/CD pipelines, and helping shape the overall test coverage strategy. While manual QA fundamentals are important, this work is automation-first. If you've built or scaled frameworks in distributed teams and enjoy owning both strategy and scripting, this is worth exploring.

Experience and Education:

  • Experience building test automation in fast-paced product engineering environments
  • Track record of designing or extending test frameworks using modern tools
  • Strong understanding of manual QA as a foundation for effective automation
  • Exposure to multi-team or multi-product test environments
  • Experience writing test cases for APIs and UI workflows

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Build and evolve a centralized test automation framework supporting multiple product lines
  • Define and maintain a test coverage strategy across distributed QA teams
  • Automate functional, regression, and smoke tests across UI and API layers
  • Write reusable, maintainable test scripts using modern automation tools
  • Participate in code reviews, test plan reviews, and QA strategy discussions
  • Integrate automated tests with CI/CD pipelines to improve delivery speed
  • Support early-stage manual QA efforts as the automation system matures
  • Document test procedures, results, and technical decisions
  • Collaborate with engineers and QA leads across companies to align testing practices
  • Proactively identify and close test coverage gaps
  • Evaluate and potentially incorporate TestComplete into the toolchain
  • Troubleshoot failures, debug issues, and optimize test performance
  • Maintain browser, device, and environment test compatibility
  • Advocate for scalable, automation-first quality engineering
  • Contribute to an engineering culture that values simplicity, clarity, and testing discipline
  • Explore and integrate AI-assisted testing tools (e.g., test case generation, flakiness detection, test impact analysis) to improve automation efficiency and reliability
