Financial Institutions Credit Analyst role at Standard Chartered Job Summary Our Credit Analysts have extensive knowledge of our risk assessment and portfolio risk management framework. They support Account Managers with credit reviews, ongoing risk monitoring and client creditworthiness, and assess Standard Chartered’s risk appetite against market and economic conditions across markets and asset classes. About Our Banking And Coverage Team Our Banking and Coverage team owns and leads the development of our Client Relationships globally, working with product partners to deliver working capital, financing, trade, cash and market solutions, including sustainable trade finance, credit derivatives and M&A advisory. About Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) For more than 170 years we support clients with transaction banking, financial markets, corporate finance and borrowing needs, providing solutions to nearly 20,000 clients in the world’s fastest‑growing economies. Key Responsibilities Lead FI/BBD credit reviews, analyse and monitor client credit risk, and ensure creditworthiness. Provide insightful, succinct and timely client portfolio credit analysis. Accountable for allocating financials, proposing credit grades aligned to scorecards, documenting client risk and mitigants and monitoring for credit‑material events. Partner with Banking, Coverage and Risk teams to develop and execute credit analysis, credit origination and monitoring. Deliver client fraud risk assessments to defined standards, documenting residual risks and mitigants. Use credit intelligence to identify business opportunities with an acceptable risk profile, supporting Relationship Managers, FI Bankers and Product teams with product solutioning and recommendations. Provide credit analysis considering market dynamics and client industry, including industry risks, client funding strategy, treasury activities, hedging and cash management. Analyse client cash flow and liquidity with ratio analysis or stress testing of balance sheet strength, cash flow and profitability vulnerability. Consider reputational risk profile, including climate and sustainability risks. Skills And Experience Familiarity with assessing the credit risk of financial institutions – banks, hedge funds, asset managers and PSDOs. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with proven ability to work across cultures and a dynamic environment. Experience with risk management lifecycle. Financial forecasting and modelling skills. Financial and quantitative skills. Client due diligence experience. Ability to use client behaviours and preferences to evolve products and services. Product knowledge for Markets, Transaction Banking and Corporate Finance. Knowledge of the financial services regulatory environment. Data analysis and visualisation capabilities.
