What You’ll Be DoingDesign, develop, test, and deploy features and services specifically tailored for the Brazilian market, with a focus on the Brazil Business, Consumer, and PIX experience. Propose and advocate for high-quality technical designs and solutions that are scalable, reliable, and compliant with local regulations. Conduct rigorous code and design reviews, providing constructive feedback to maintain and elevate engineering standards globally. Implement integrations with local banks, payment providers, identity/business verification vendors, and financial partners across the region. Automate and improve onboarding workflows and compliance checks (KYC/KYB) for different customer types. Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and engineers in other global offices, to align on product vision and technical implementation. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, ensuring the stability and performance of systems. Contribute to the technical strategy and roadmap for the Brazil Regional team. Act as a technical leader and mentor within the São Paulo engineering hub, helping to onboard and guide new engineers. Stay updated on relevant Brazilian and LatAm market trends, payment systems, and regulatory requirements to inform product development and ensure compliance. QualificationsWhat We’re Looking ForA proactive and ambitious mindset, with a desire to take ownership and make a significant impact. Proven experience as a Staff Engineer, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality, scalable systems and a strong product mindset. A highly autonomous team player that is able to find and execute on the most impactful opportunities. Deep technical expertise in back-end development and microservices architecture. Experience in designing and building complex software systems and collaborating on architectural decisions. Strong ability to provide constructive feedback during code and design reviews. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to break down complex challenges. Experience collaborating with distributed or global teams. A passion for mentoring and coaching engineers and contributing to team growth. Advanced knowledge of English (equivalent to at least Level B2 - but no certification is required). Nice To HaveJava proficiency. Experience collaborating with distributed or global teams. Experience working on payments systems, money movement, financial integrations, Consumer and/or Business onboarding (KYC/KYB) in Latin American markets. Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance requirements. Experience in the FinTech or payments industry. Advanced knowledge of Spanish.
