Specialist maintenance engineer

As a Specialist Maintenance Engineer, you will work closely with cross-functional teams including AI/ML Engineers, Process and Maintenance Engineers, Product Managers, and Software Leaders to co-create cutting-edge digital solutions for asset-intensive industries. Your role will focus on improving reliability, asset performance, process optimization, and risk management through advanced engineering practices and data-driven insights.

We are looking for a technically expert professional with deep knowledge in rotating equipment and predictive maintenance, capable of driving innovation and supporting the development of next-generation digital industrial solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a technical mentor and facilitator for the engineering team, leading technical analyses, FMEA studies, and prioritizing opportunities aligned with SHAPEs strategic roadmap.
• Conduct feasibility studies, scout innovations, and assess economic and technical viability to support investment decisions.
• Develop and optimize industrial processes to ensure operational efficiency, safety, and quality compliance.
• Apply in-depth mechanical engineering expertise on rotating equipment, including dynamic and thermodynamic behavior, control systems, monitoring, diagnostics, and operations, to identify continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
• Define technical requirements and guide development of algorithms and models focused on performance monitoring, failure prediction, anomaly detection, energy efficiency, and emissions reduction.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and implement data strategies that enhance decision-making and process effectiveness.
• Take an active role in solving complex technical challenges, providing innovative, high-quality solutions to support project goals.
• Consistently contribute to the development of SHAPEs digital products, detailing and prioritizing features and user stories.
• Support technical and commercial proposal development for new projects.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
• Solid experience in the Oil & Gas industry or similar environments, with proven knowledge in predictive maintenance, asset diagnostics, and industrial operations.
• Deep understanding of rotating machinery, sensor systems, performance monitoring, protection schemes, failure modes, and equipment specifications.
• Hands-on experience with PI AF (Asset Framework) for data analysis and building predictive models.
• Strong background in asset integrity and performance management, and ability to facilitate studies such as HAZOP, HAZID, RCA, FMEA, and RCM.
• Knowledge of industrial process operation and control.
• Basic understanding of industrial automation, DCS, protection systems, and condition monitoring tools.
• Familiarity with data acquisition systems, vibration analysis tools, PIMS, and OPC servers.
• Working knowledge of data analysis, machine learning algorithms, and digital software architecture.
• Experience with agile methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Differentials:

• CREA registration is desirable.
• Additional training or courses in rotating equipment and data analysis.
• Knowledge of Python, Data Science, Machine Learning, and Statistics.
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black Belt).
