The Senior Software Engineer I, Unified Experience will be building and shaping our product for Private Equity clients, collaborating with business and engineering teams across domains including Cap Table Management and Fund administration. You will be one of the key contributors improving operational efficiency, building new features, and leveraging standardized solutions in a challenging product area. The Team You'll Work With The Unified Experience for PE team at Carta helps private equity firms easily see and manage their portfolio companies by creating connected and user-friendly tools. The team’s core focus is to create a unified experience for investors — including detailed views for PE-backed LLCs. Some of the key problem areas you will be working on: Fragmented experience - The platform lacks unified dashboards for all investment entities, especially PE-backed LLCs, making portfolio overviews difficult. Missing Valuations and Insights - Key information (valuations, holdings, financials, KPIs) is not easily accessible for PE-backed LLCs and FA issuers, limiting transparency. Cumbersome Entry to Key Products - No streamlined way to access essential tools (e.g., valuations, data monitoring) from portfolio views. Disconnected Platform Workflows - Data and workflows across investments, valuation, and reporting aren’t well integrated—impacting product launches and analytics. Responsibilities Collaborate with product and engineering teams to design and deliver enterprise-grade features for the Unified Experience for PE. Build and shape front-end and/or full-stack solutions using ReactJS, TypeScript, and related tooling. Champion scalable architectures, SOA/microservices concepts, and data-driven approaches to improve user experience for Private Equity clients. Engage with stakeholders across engineering, product, business, and marketing to deliver customer value and refine requirements. About You You deeply care about your users and are relentless in your pursuit to build enterprise-grade applications. You are energized by solving deep problems collaboratively and can easily transition between a Solver and Tech Lead archetype. Additionally: 5+ years of frontend or full-stack engineering experience. Experience in architecting complex SaaS products with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) and microservices. Passion for elements of our tech stack (ReactJS, TypeScript, React Queries, Storybook, Amplitude, Ink). Ability to work with stakeholders across engineering, product, business, and marketing. Interest in AI/ML technologies and how they can improve product experiences. A desire to become a product domain expert and refine ambiguous product requirements to deliver customer value. Strong communication skills and the ability to own your work end-to-end. Willingness to move fast while building for the future.
