Job Purpose
Depending on their level of knowledge & experience, the Field Engineer's role applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or jobs for a variety of products and services. Entry and intermediate level roles will receive direct supervision in support of their duties and assignments. Senior and fully-qualified level roles will not only provide the direction to junior field engineers but will also use their extensive knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues and make recommendations to alter development and designs to improve the quality of products and procedures. Familiarity with the variety of field concepts may result in senior roles supporting research but will certainly be used to plan assignments and accomplish goals. Intermediate and Senior positions will act as the key interface with the client at the well site, carrying the duties and responsibilities for completing service assignments and managing other Weatherford personnel at the well site. Whilst this is a generic job description covering the different levels of the Field Engineer position, all aspects of the roles and responsibilities are relevant. Senior roles will be involved with more advanced technology.

Job Purpose
Depending on their level of knowledge & experience, the Field Engineer's role applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or jobs for a variety of products and services. Responsibilities

• SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE: Maintain high standards of corporate governance and ensure activities comply with Weatherford security, compliance, and HSE policies, management systems, laws, regulations, standards, and industry practices; follow Weatherford’s Rules to Live By
• QUALITY: Familiar with Quality policies; support compliance and improvement of Weatherford’s Management System; strive to maintain service quality and identify areas for improvement
• OPERATIONS: Participate in daily operations and safety meetings, toolbox talks, Job Hazard Analysis (JHA); ensure timely reporting of issues; maintain equipment and work areas in safe, presentable condition; monitor data to recommend services; perform job planning, mobilization, execution, and documentation; be available on a 24-hour call basis; manage client relationships for repeat business; oversee inventory; cooperate with R&M for failure reports; contribute to root cause analyses; mentor field operation crew as needed; senior-level guidance as technical advisor; engineering checks on client location; may oversee installation of complex equipment
• COMMUNICATION: Maintain effective communications with internal and external stakeholders; ensure clear expectations and responsibilities are communicated
• FINANCIAL: Be financially responsible within approved budgets and policies
• PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT: Engage in career development, training, performance discussions, and talent management in partnership with supervisors and HR
• VISION & LEADERSHIP: Demonstrate leadership and ethical behavior in line with Weatherford standards

Experience & Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science (minimum)
• 0–1 year’s experience in the oil & gas industry

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Fundamentals of mechanics, electricity, electronics, pneumatics, and/or hydraulics
• Mathematics, basic physics and chemistry
• Computer fundamentals
• Critical thinking, active learning, listening, and complex problem solving
• Reading and writing skills; good judgment and decision-making aligned with policies
• Time management and quality control abilities
• Service orientation; physically capable of performing tasks; ability to identify problems and understand solutions

Travel Requirement: This role may require domestic and potentially international travel up to 10%.
