Job Summary

In the Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) team, we have an opening for a Regulatory Manager for the Latin America (LATAM) region to coordinate and drive regulatory and advocacy activities for our Health and Bioactives (H&B) business unit.

The role reports to the Director of Americas for the Bioactives business and will be located at our IFF Sao Paulo site in Brazil.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • The Regulatory Manager will be a liaison between the H&B LATAM business leaders and existing GRA regulatory leads to help support the needs of the region, aligned with the business strategy. This role includes involvement and coordination of GRA efforts to support relevant product lines and customers, leadership in trade associations, and regulatory agency interaction.

Specific Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the local GRA product leads to help coordinate and communicate regulatory and advocacy status with internal stakeholders (e.g., business leaders, sales directors, product line managers, regulatory) and external (e.g., customers).
  • Advocacy leadership and strategy development internally and within relevant trade associations for food, dietary supplements, feed, and home and personal care.
  • Ad hoc liaison with the relevant stakeholders during risk evaluations and management processes.
  • Interfaces with internal business functions to support business plans, development opportunities, and R&D objectives.
  • Support with regulatory filings as needed.
  • Provide regional regulatory input during cross-functional business projects.

EXTERNAL FOCUS:

Can be expected to spend about 15% of the time traveling to support regional business-customer interactions, trade associations, or interacting with government officials.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • MSc or BSc degree in Regulatory Science, Biology, Toxicology, or Chemistry or similar fields.
  • Doctorate degrees with 6+ years of experience; Master's degree with 12+ years of experience; Bachelor's with 15+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of the LATAM regulatory landscape for biotechnology, food, feed, dietary supplements, and home and personal care and their uses; knowledge of the global regulatory landscape is an added advantage.
  • LATAM experience in interaction with regulatory agencies, trade associations, and a track record in product clearance/registrations.
  • Demonstrate analytical, conceptual, and strategic thinking as well as excellent communication skills across a global team.
  • Strong interpersonal, organization, project management, and communication skills.
  • Strong influencer and collaborator with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint).
