Join Western Digital as an Entry-Level Software Developer to support and enhance 24/7 manufacturing operations with innovative software solutions.

Your Role

Here’s what you will be doing:

  • Develop, test, and maintain software applications that support production efficiency, logistics control, and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver effective technical solutions.
  • Assist in integrating AI, automation, and other emerging technologies into the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) and related systems.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot software issues in a 24/7 operational setting.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Document technical processes, configurations, and updates.
  • Stay current with industry trends and proactively suggest innovative solutions.
About You

The company is looking for:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as C#, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Basic understanding of software development principles and version control (e.g., Git).
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Willingness to learn and explore AI, automation, and new technologies relevant to manufacturing.
  • Preferred: Experience with databases (SQL or NoSQL), knowledge of Agile or DevOps practices, internship or project experience in software development, and interest in AI applications like predictive maintenance, process optimization, or computer vision.
