Revenue Accountant

The Red Hat Accounting team is looking for a Revenue Accountant to join us in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In this role, you will assist in both month-end accounting Closing and the day-to-day support of financial operations. You will report to the Revenue accounting manager and work cross-functionally with the Accounting, Finance, Services, Sales, Legal, Global Business Delivery and Order Management teams. You will also work closely with the project accounting team in LATAM. You will strive to collaborate across Red Hat.
What you will do
- Comply with Red Hat’s accounting and operational practices and conform to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Oversee operations for the monthly accounting cycle, including journals, reconciliations and reporting.
- Provide ongoing daily support to the project accounting team and learning service team and stakeholders by responding to questions, managing relationships, providing best practices, and troubleshooting issues
- Support monthly and quarterly financial close activities including reconciliation
- Partnering closely Order management, Billing and Service Operations in the running of the daily operations and ensuring compliance with policies and controls.
- Support effective implementation of controls through timely monitoring
- Engage with internal audit teams to support the quarterly review and annual audit activities
- Analyze data and effectively present findings and insight to your stakeholders including accounting management.
What you will bring:
- 3+ years of relevant experience in Multinational Companies.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, economy or finance
- Ability to manage multiple priorities under given time constraints and deadlines
- Stakeholder customer management skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience with Oracle, will be considering a plus
- Demonstrated experience working in a cross-functional team
- Knowledge of Local GAAP end US GAAP
- English conversational and written proficiency is nice to have
- Spanish proficiency will be considered a plus
