Step Labs is seeking a talented Ecommerce and Web Designer with a primary focus on designing landing pages, web applications, and websites. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating wireframes, both low fidelity and high fidelity designs, and effectively communicating mockups to clients while incorporating feedback. This role involves designing for both mobile and desktop platforms as needed for client projects.

Key Responsibilities:


Landing Page, Web App, and Website Design:


  • Design high-converting landing pages, user-friendly web applications, and visually appealing websites using Figma.
  • Focus on creating excellent user experiences for both mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Ensure designs are optimized for performance, usability, and SEO.


Wireframing and Prototyping:


  • Develop detailed wireframes and prototypes to visualize the structure and layout of landing pages, web apps, and websites.
  • Create both low fidelity and high fidelity designs to communicate ideas effectively.
  • Use user feedback and industry best practices to refine wireframes and prototypes.
  • Ensure wireframes and prototypes align with client goals and brand guidelines.


Client Communication and Feedback:


  • Present design concepts and mockups to clients, clearly explaining the rationale behind design decisions.
  • Act on client feedback to refine and improve designs, ensuring client satisfaction and project success.
  • Maintain effective communication throughout the design process, providing updates and seeking clarifications as needed.


Collaboration and Teamwork:


  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, marketers, and product managers, to deliver cohesive and effective e-commerce solutions.
  • Provide design expertise and guidance to team members, promoting best practices and innovative design solutions.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for improving the overall user experience.


User Research and Testing:


  • Conduct user research, surveys, and usability tests to gain insights into user behavior and preferences.
  • Analyze user feedback to identify areas for improvement in design and user experience.
  • Implement changes based on research findings to enhance the effectiveness of landing pages, web apps, and websites.


Design Standards and Consistency:


  • Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines and maintain a consistent visual identity.
  • Create and maintain design documentation, including style guides and component libraries.
  • Stay updated with the latest design trends, tools, and best practices.


Job Requirements:


Experience:


  • Experience in ecommerce and web design, with a strong portfolio showcasing landing page, web app, and website designs.
  • Proficiency in Figma for designing wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.
  • Experience in designing for both mobile and desktop platforms.
  • Experience in conducting user research and usability testing.


Skills:


  • Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and best practices.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting designs and gathering client feedback.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience in client-facing roles.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.


Technical Proficiency:


  • Basic understanding of front-end development concepts (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is beneficial for effective collaboration with developers.
  • Knowledge of SEO and CRO best practices as they relate to design.
