About the role You’re a natural bridge between technology and people—a communicator who thrives on making complex topics clear, exciting, and accessible. You have a genuine passion for empowering developers, backed by hands‑on technical expertise and a curiosity that keeps you experimenting with new tools, frameworks, and ideas. You’re equally at home coding up a quick demo as you are standing on stage, streaming live, or publishing a deep‑dip article. You believe in community as more than just a buzzword—it’s about fostering connections, listening with intent, and inspiring others to build. As a Developer Advocate at Zyte, you’ll champion our web scraping and data extraction tools to developers around the world, shaping how they learn, adopt, and innovate with our technology. You’ll create projects, stories, and resources that highlight the power of Zyte API and Scrapy, connecting with our audience across events, social channels, and developer communities. You’ll work closely with product and marketing teams, bringing community insights back into our roadmap, while amplifying the voices of developers who use our tools. Your work will make a tangible impact—growing awareness, deepening trust, and helping Zyte define the Web Scraping API category. Responsibilities Create content (written, video, webinars) and code samples that demonstrate how to work with and integrate Zyte tools Engage with the community across social channels and forums and showcase how to solve web scraping challenges Educate, showcase and demo our products to our communities and beyond Speak at developer‑focused events Write blog posts for Zyte and third‑party sites Identify external advocates and community leaders, and support them as they talk about Zyte and web data extraction independent of us Represent the developer POV in the marketing team Work with our technical teams to identify content opportunities and channel community feedback Identify opportunities to improve documentation and be an active contributor Post regularly on the company's social channels for our developer audience Requirements 3+ years of experience in developer advocacy, community engagement, or related technical roles Strong understanding of web technologies, APIs, web scraping, and data extraction Demonstrable knowledge of Python Interest in web data extraction A passion for developers and helping developers Excellent verbal and written communication skills with some experience with public speaking Proven experience working with communities, social media, and blogging required A background in community building and event hosting is a plus Self‑motivated, self‑reliant and able to prioritize tasks Strong team player Nice to Have Experience with Scrapy, headless browsers and web scraping is a plus but not a hard requirement Benefits Become part of a self‑motivated, progressive, multi‑cultural team Have the freedom and flexibility to work from where you do your best work Attend conferences and meet with team members from across the globe Work with cutting‑edge open source technologies and tools 35 days paid holidays #J-18808-Ljbffr
