Job Duties Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes. Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design. Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements. Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solve complex system equations and develop custom equations to simplify complex problems using advanced engineering tools. Coaches, develops, and reviews work from other employees as a technical expert. Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams. Contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions. Collaborates across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India). Works with Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Project Management at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC). Qualifications Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 10+ years of experience in R&D. Experience with multidisciplinary teams located in different locations/countries. Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry. Experience in design solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multi disciplines is desirable. Experience in design solutions for well intervention applications involving multi disciplines is desirable. Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers as needed. Knowledge and participation in patent processes. Prepare and deliver project status reports regularly to various stakeholders. Advance knowledge and experience in leading Risk Assessment, FMEA, and other reliability tools. Familiarity with power control and communication systems/solutions. Advanced working knowledge in electronic circuit design and in commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD) applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G, mining or aerospace). Experience in designing system automation using robotics. Experience in designing models, control design and simulation of electrical and mechanical systems with standard software (Matlab, LabVIEW, ROS, PLC software, etc.). Strong background and knowledge in different aspects of control system design, signal processing and analyses, feedback loops and system dynamics. Knowledge in ROV activities, subsea inspection and autonomous underwater systems is desirable. Knowledge of MIMO for motion planning (sensing, feedback for power/torque).
