**About the team**:
The Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team's work spans across a broad and diverse range of functions and workstreams, including government affairs and government relations; policy and issue area expertise; risk and crisis management and mitigation; outreach, coalitions, and partnerships; and philanthropy. The mission of the Global Public Policy & Government Affairs team is to develop and advocate for solutions for pressing high technology issues and to promote a political, legislative, and regulatory environment that supports growth and innovation for our business.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Assist the Head of Brazil Public Policy to build strategy and advise the company on emerging public policy matters to ensure the success of the team's goals in Brazil;
2. Represent TikTok to elected officials, government agencies, ministers, as well as civil society entities and academic leaders engaged in policy making issues of importance to TikTok and the people who use the service.
3. Represent TikTok at high tech industry gatherings, trade associations and coalition meetings.
4. Proactively identify emerging and significant policy issues, alert relevant internal teams and address any issues, helping to fashion the best solutions for the issues caused by the tech development itself
5. Monitor political and social events in Brazil, and work with cross-functional teams to leverage opportunities or mitigate risks;
6. Work closely with Trust & Safety, Communications, Legal, and product teams on the development and integration of key public policy projects;
7. Provide front-line support on issues requiring engagement, solving problems, and escalating to internal colleagues as needed.
8. Maintain and develop a strong network of third-party public interest groups, industry associations and academics engaged in technology policy issues
9. Carry-out research and reporting on domestic and international policy issues relevant to the company;
10. Assess implications of and advise on product and feature launches within country.
**Qualifications**:
1. 7+ years dedicated professional experience with government, politics and technology policy; or related civil society experience with knowledge across all such disciplines.
2. Outstanding judgment, persuasive and lobbying skills, creativity, and the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, and often uncertain environment.
4. Deep experience working across multiple functions, influencing, and collaborating with others to successfully implement programs and initiatives; history of successful cross-functional team and leadership collaboration.
**5. Strong research and analysis abilities**: the individual will need to take complex situations and effectively communicate their implications for the company, as well as defend priorities for the public policy function;
**6. Strong teamwork and communication skills**: the individual will need to work with other departments including, but not limited to policy/legal/PR staff to assess need, alignment and path for collaboration;
8. Excellent Portuguese and English language fluency, spoken and written.
9. Proven track record managing projects and civil society engagement.
10. Sense of humour

1. Experience with government relations experience in major multinational corporations or international organizations;
2. Experience in a tech company, especially a user driven content platform is a plus;
3. Existing network in the technology sector in Brazil;
