Join to apply for the Engineer II role at ABS Group Job Description Performs engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects, by their complexity and difficulty, require the competent application of mechanical engineering knowledge and conventional engineering practices. The incumbent will develop a strong understanding of company policies, methods, and procedures through broader and technically challenging assignments. What You Will Do With minimal or no supervision performs detailed engineering review of plans, as assigned, for compliance with applicable Rules, Regulations and contract commitments. Perform detailed engineering review of mechanical systems and designs for compliance with applicable international standards, Brazilian NRs, local authority requirements, and ABS Group methodologies. Conduct inspections and Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) for piping, pressure vessels, and pressure valves, considering API 579 Fitness-for-Service analysis and other regulatory standards. Provide support and technical solutions for Marine and Offshore assets and refinery facilities. Analyze and resolve design conflicts and propose innovative solutions to moderately complex engineering problems. Draft accurate and timely technical reports, responses to communications, and formal documentation. Communicate project status and workload effectively to ensure client needs are met. Work independently or in a team environment and interact with clients to identify and resolve technical challenges. Implement and maintain ABS Group Quality System requirements after completing Quality System training. What You Will Need Education and Experience B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or another related discipline. Professional/Chartered Engineer License. Certification as Person Habilitated (PH) in Brazil under CREA standards. Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply fundamental classification and quality concepts, practices and procedures. Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply advanced mechanical engineering concepts, practices, and standards. Knowledge of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) techniques, including API 579 Fitness-for-Service analysis. Proficiency in CAESAR II (pipe stress analysis) and familiarity with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) tools is advantageous. Solid problem-solving skills with the ability to propose technical solutions to engineering challenges. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work well independently or collaboratively with others in a team. Strong computer literacy, including the use of engineering analysis software. Five (5) years minimum of relevant mechanical engineering experience in a design office, consulting company, or energy industry-related projects. It Would Be Nice If You Had Professional or chartered engineer license. Reporting Relationships The incumbent reports to a senior level engineer or technical manager.
