Job Description

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global Technology Infrastructure Team, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute software solutions, design, develop, and troubleshoot with innovative approaches to solve technical problems.
  • Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms synchronized with systems.
  • Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met.
  • Analyze large, diverse data sets to develop visualizations and reports for continuous improvement.
  • Identify hidden problems and patterns in data to improve coding hygiene and system architecture.
  • Contribute to communities of practice exploring new technologies.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Formal training or certification in software engineering with 3+ years of experience.
  • Practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
  • Proficiency in Java and knowledge of Python.
  • Experience building RESTful APIs with Spring Boot.
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLM), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), and AI agents.
  • Experience in debugging and maintaining code in large corporate environments using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, And Skills

  • Experience with NoSQL databases like ElasticSearch or MongoDB.
  • Experience with system prompting, prompt tuning, vector databases, and AI safety guardrails.
  • Understanding of AI libraries such as AutoGen, Langchain, Pydantic.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies like MCP.
  • Exposure to cloud technologies.
