THE OPPORTUNITY We are hiring a Staff Analytics Engineering Lead for our Data Delivery team in Brazil. This is a remote – Brazil position. Only candidates located in Brazil are eligible. ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES Lead key initiatives for the Data Delivery team, acting as the primary point of contact and ensuring alignment between technical execution and company-wide data strategy. Drive the Shift Left movement by defining patterns, standards, and tools that enable microservice teams to expose high‑quality, consumable data with robust data contracts. Architect and champion robust data models within our data warehouse (Medallion Architecture) to ensure consistency and adherence to central data concepts, enhancing reliability of reporting and analysis. Empower the distributed Data Chapter by providing the highest‑quality, discoverable datasets necessary for business and product insights. Manage cross‑functional data initiatives, establish clear roadmaps, communicate progress and risks to senior stakeholders across Business Units and Product Tech Unit. Act as a technical product owner for data assets, gathering complex requirements and translating them into actionable data delivery plans. Collaborate with Data Platform and Data Solutions teams to ensure transformation and tooling (e.g., Trino, Airflow, OpenMetadata) align with delivery needs. Design and maintain scalable, high‑integrity data models (dimensional, facts, aggregated marts) optimized for Trino performance and self‑service analytics. Develop robust, test‑driven ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL in Airflow to transform raw microservice data into gold‑standard domain datasets. Champion data governance practices, ensuring models and transformations enforce company data concepts and quality standards. Provide technical mentorship and guidance on best practices in data modeling and pipeline development to other Data Delivery engineers. WHO YOU ARE Experienced Data and/or Analytics Engineer with a proven track record of managing complex data projects and influencing technical direction. Successfully led and delivered large‑scale data initiatives in distributed environments. Deep understanding of data modeling principles (dimensional modeling, medallion architecture, domain‑driven design) and ability to balance flexibility, consistency, and performance. Effective communicator, engaging engineering, product, and senior management stakeholders. Comfortable with hub‑and‑spoke operating model, advocating for central consistency while supporting distributed data ownership. Expert proficiency in SQL and Python for data transformation and pipeline construction. Proven expertise in designing and optimizing data warehouse or lakehouse models. Strong knowledge of distributed query engines (Trino/Presto) and query optimization. Experience with workflow orchestration tools like Airflow. Advanced knowledge of data governance, data quality checks, and semantic consistency across domains. Strong communication with both technical and business stakeholders. Roadblock management, task prioritization, and roadmap ownership. Familiarity with data cataloging tools such as OpenMetadata. Prior involvement in organizational transformation toward Shift Left or Data Mesh approaches is a plus. Competencies Required Expert proficiency in SQL and Python. Designing and optimizing Data Warehouse or Lakehouse data models. Understanding of distributed query engines and query optimization. Experience with Airflow or similar orchestration tools. Advanced data governance and quality checks (e.g., Great Expectations). Strong stakeholder communication and collaboration. Roadmap, task management, and prioritization. Familiarity with data cataloging and discovery tools such as OpenMetadata. Experience with a Shift Left or Data Mesh approach accelerates success.
