Video Editor

Video Editor - Talent Pool at Darkroom. This fully remote role supports a team in the EST time zone and is open to candidates based in Brazil, Portugal, and Spain.

• You will be editing UGC-style videos in a variety of content formats.
• Develop and execute thumb-stopping social media video edits, layer audio seamlessly and overlay text that drives key brand messaging.
• Brainstorm inventive edits and hooks that drive engagement, leverage new formats.
• Stay current on all social media platforms, ad offerings, content publishers, tools, trends, and best practices.
• Be a creative collaborator: be the voice of the brand and the influencer to create content that is authentic and powerful for all channels.
• Be comfortable using video editing software, editing audio, and taking editing direction in a fast-paced environment.
• Provide accessible content including closed captioning, voiceover, and overlay text in a variety of aspect ratios.
• Set up projects for edit staff; ingest and log footage; work with edit staff to meet deadlines.
• Maintain media storage (hard drives, servers, GDrive) and manage all project deliverables and archiving.
• Support senior staff with editing and administrative needs; version various aspect ratios of completed edits.
• Maintain all software and assets (Mac OSX, server OS, frame.io, Vimeo, shared assets) and coordinate/edit equipment as needed.
• Report to the Post-Production Supervisor and Producers; create high-quality video edits spanning various media platforms as requested.
• Collaborate with the performance marketing team to review ad analytics/performance.

• Experience creating platform-native content (including video content and organic content), especially IG Reels, Meta ads, and TikTok viral video campaigns.
• Exceptional time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage deliverables across multiple brands.
• Strong motion graphics/graphic design/typography skills.
• Proficient in Adobe Premiere Pro; FCPX preferred.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (especially Media Encoder, After Effects, Premiere, and Photoshop).
• Familiarity with broadcast finishing workflows (mix, color, VFX, conform, online).
• Familiarity working in a networked server environment; strong knowledge of codecs and transcoding practices.
• Strong communication skills; ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient with animation/graphic design preferred.
