Key job responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day Tax Compliance reporting for key Amazon group entities, overseeing activities related to ICMS, ICMS-ST, IPI, PIS, COFINS, ISS, and ancillary obligations such as CIAP, GIA, Sped-Fiscal, GIS, EC, Inventory, Bloco K, and EFD Contribuições. Coordinate tax compliance activities, ensuring adherence to deadlines and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design or improve tax compliance processes.
  • Evaluate the tax implications of business initiatives, transactions, and proposals, providing insights and solutions from a tax compliance perspective.
  • Participate in projects to shape the future strategy of indirect tax to mitigate litigation risks.
  • Create and review company metrics, manage taxes, and identify potential risks.
  • Work with stakeholders, including Accounting, to prepare calculation records, reconcile tax returns, and ensure accuracy.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Business, Accounting, or related field; additional academic development in Taxation is preferred.
  • Relevant tax experience in a corporate environment, public accounting, or law firm.
  • Significant experience with Brazilian taxes (ICMS, ICMS ST, PIS, COFINS, ISS), international taxation, and VAT in LATAM is a plus.
  • Understanding of digital and marketplace business models.
  • Strong communication skills in Portuguese and English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6+ years experience with transaction tax software (e.g., Vertex).
  • Experience with VBA, Python, SQL, or other database languages.
