Overview
The Tax Manager will be responsible for leading and overseeing all tax-related activities of the company, ensuring compliance with current tax legislation and optimizing the tax burden. The professional will act strategically, managing the tax team and collaborating with other departments to ensure the financial integrity of the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Management: Manage and develop the Tax team, delegating tasks, monitoring performance, and ensuring deadlines and goals are met.
- Tax Planning: Conduct analyses and studies on tax planning to identify opportunities for tax savings and optimize the tax structure.
- Tax Compliance: Ensure the correct calculation and payment of federal, state, and municipal taxes (such as Corporate Income Tax IRPJ, Social Contribution on Net Profit CSLL, PIS, COFINS, ICMS, IPI, and ISS).
- Ancillary Obligations: Supervise the preparation and submission of all ancillary tax obligations (ECF, EFD, DCTF, SPEDs), ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Audits and Inspections: Act as the main point of contact for internal and external audits and tax inspections, providing necessary documentation and information.
- Analysis and Reporting: Prepare management reports and detailed analyses on the tax landscape, presenting results and recommendations to senior management.
- Legislative Updates: Stay up-to-date on changes in tax legislation, communicate impacts to the company and implement necessary adaptations.
- Process Optimization: Propose and implement improvements in tax processes to increase efficiency and reduce risks.
- Interdepartmental Communication: Collaborate with the Accounting, Legal, and Finance departments to ensure the integration and alignment of activities.
Job Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or Law. A postgraduate degree or MBA in Taxation is a plus.
- Professional Experience: Solid management experience in the tax/fiscal area, with in-depth knowledge of direct and indirect taxes in Brazil.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in tax calculation, ancillary obligations, and tax legislation. Knowledge of ERP systems (such as SAP, Oracle, etc.) is a plus.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop teams.
- Analytical Skills: Strong logical reasoning and analytical skills to solve complex problems and make strategic decisions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication to interact with the team, other departments, and tax authorities.
- Language: Advanced English is desirable, especially for companies with international operations.
