**Position Description**
The position of Associate Medical Affairs Manager is an exciting opportunity for professionals with extensive experience in infectious diseases management including diagnosis and understanding of patient´s pathways. The primary role will be to provide scientific and medical information about products and therapies to healthcare providers and other stakeholders. They also support the development and launch of new products, and monitor their safety and efficacy after they are approved for use and that they comply with regulations.
The incumbent will provide internal and external education, identify and work with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) in the field; identify opportunities and assist in the execution of investigator-initiated studies aimed at establishing clinical utility. Medical affairs professionals work in a cross-functional environment, collaborating with many different teams within their company.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Provide information about products to healthcare providers, patients, and regulatory authorities.
- Support Regional Medical Affairs representative from Channel Partners in Latin America.
- Be the point of contact in LATAM for the design and execution of clinical trials and/or Investigator Initiated Studies Program, and ensure that they are conducted ethically and in compliance with regulations.
- Monitor the safety and efficacy of products after they have been approved for use.
- Work collaboratively with researchers, regulatory affairs personnel, and other healthcare professionals.
- Develop and implement strategies and plans for medical affairs.
- Review and approve medical content for marketing and educational purposes.
- Monitor emerging trends and regulations in the healthcare industry.
- Provide training to sales and marketing team regionally (INTERNAL).
- Contribute to medical safety signal evaluation under the direction of CMO (INTERNAL).
- Provide formal presentations on clinical utility and value of QIAGEN's molecular diagnostics solutions to hospital, laboratories and other settings of relevance.
- Facilitate communication between laboratories and clinical departments to maximize patient solutions using QIAGEN's molecular diagnostics.
- Provide interface for interaction and communication with investigators.
- Engage with key opinion leaders and healthcare professionals to establish collaborations.
- Identify state of the art implementation of diagnostic pathways as benchmark for other customers.
- Establish centers of excellence as benchmark for other customer sites to model.
- Identify and formulate clinical case studies.
**Position Requirements**
- Medical Doctor, Clinical Infectious Disease Pharmacist or life science, microbiology graduate (Bachelor level and above).
- Minimum of 3 years post-graduation experience (preferably at least 2 years in industry)
- Familiarity with infectious disease diagnosis, treatment and/or microbiology/virology methods is desirable.
- Communication skills are essential.
- Knowledge of laboratory workflow is a plus.
- Knowledge of PCR technology is a plus.
- Experienced in presenting technical information to audiences with various degrees of scientific and clinical experience.
- Perfect understanding of clinical trials regulation and implementation.
- English, Portuguese and Spanish required.
