Technical Compliance Officer

We are a leading global fintech company providing cross-border payment solutions to enterprises worldwide, with operations across North America, Europe, the UK, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East. As we strategically expand into the Brazilian market, we are seeking a seasoned Technical Compliance Officer (Brazil) to ensure full compliance of our local operations with Brazilian financial regulations, data protection laws (LGPD), AML/KYC requirements, and payment system frameworks. This role will serve as the primary liaison with local regulators (e.G., Banco Central do Brasil, Receita Federal, ANPD), lead compliance implementation, adapt technical systems to regulatory expectations, and support routine audits, while closely collaborating with global compliance and engineering teams to embed compliance into product development. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary technical compliance liaison between the company and Brazilian regulators (including but not limited to Banco Central do Brasil, CVM, ANPD, Receita Federal); Representing the engineering in regulatory engagements that involve system architecture, data flows, business contingency, audit logging, and other technical implementation aspects of compliance. Participate in Brazil market-related requirements and project reviews, providing technical compliance oversight to assess requirements and ensure that products, technical architecture, and operational processes comply with Brazilian financial, payments, and data privacy regulations (such as LGPD, PIX-related rules, and BCB Resolutions), thereby enabling legally compliant business operations.; Collaborate with global Compliance, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams to translate regulatory requirements into actionable technical specifications and system controls; Support internal and external audits (e.G., SOX, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001) and prepare regulatory filings and compliance reports; Continuously monitor regulatory developments in Brazil, assess impact on existing business and technical architecture, and propose mitigation strategies; Drive the systematic and standardized documentation of technical artifacts to enhance compliance efficiency and auditability; Provide compliance training and guidance to local business teams to foster a strong compliance culture. Qualifications: Required Qualifications Language : Native-level Portuguese (written and spoken); fluent English for global collaboration; Local Regulatory Knowledge : Deep understanding of Brazil’s financial regulatory landscape, including BCB payment system rules (e.G., PIX, SPB), AML/CFT regulations, and LGPD data protection requirements; Technical Acumen: Familiarity with modern payment technology architectures (e.G., API-first, microservices, cloud infrastructure); ability to engage engineering teams on technical details such as data flows, encryption, and audit logging; Hands-on Experience: Direct experience engaging with Brazilian regulators, submitting licensing applications, or managing on-site inspections; Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Law, Finance, Information Technology, Risk Management, or related field. Preferred Qualifications Hold professional certifications such as CISSP, CAMS, CRCM, or similar; Prior experience in fintech, payment institutions, or banking compliance roles; Familiarity with international compliance standards (e.G., FATF Recommendations, GDPR, PCI-DSS) and their local implementation; Experience working inmulticultural teams and supporting cross-border compliance initiatives.
