Senior Data Scientist Opportunity We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to modernize, maintain and develop an e-commerce platform. The ideal candidate will deliver solutions in product teams focused on customer, loyalty, search, data integration and cart domains. The key priorities for this role include onboarding new brands, re-architecting the platform, database migrations and migrating to a cloud-native solution. To achieve these goals, we need a Senior Data Scientist who can design, develop and optimize semantic search solutions using Lucene/Solr and embeddings. This individual will apply machine learning, deep learning and natural language processing techniques to improve search relevance and ranking. Developing data pipelines and APIs for indexing, retrieval and model inference is also a critical aspect of this role. Mandatory skills include: Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering , 5+ years of experience, Java and Python programming skills, knowledge of Lucene , Solr and Elasticsearch , Vector Databases , Embeddings and Semantic Search techniques, NLP techniques, software engineering best practices.
