What you will do

At Vehicle Engineering you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.

As Mechanical Engineer you will be in charge to develop technical solutions for local and global projects, solve quality problems and be accountable over our products in Latin America. It means:

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Be responsible and lead installation of pneumatic and electrical components on the chassis: valves, brackets, pneumatics tubes, harness routing and respective layouts
  • Resolve quality issues whenever necessary in the area of concern
  • Providing technical solutions and design work in CAD
  • Elaborate documentation (3D models, drawings, technical regulations, technical descriptions, product structure and releases)
  • Provide inputs for product and system roadmaps
  • Ensure design fulfilment of business targets and requirements
  • Secure a continuous optimization of product quality and cost
  • Elaborate validation plan and time plans
  • Support design reviews, risk analysis, Root cause analysis and FMEAs
  • Secure cross functional agreement within other technology areas, purchasing, manufacturing, after market, etc

Your future team

CEIP&T (Chassis Electrical Installation, Pneumatics & Tanks) is a group within the Chassis Department responsible for development and installation of pneumatics, electrical, urea, fuel lines and tanks. CEIP&T is also part of a global network and works in close cooperation with other sites such as Sweden, India, France and USA. You will work together with skilled and collaborative colleagues all over the globe.

Essential skills and needed experience:

  • Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalent (e.g. Mechatronic)
  • Experience as product development engineer. Automotive industry is preferred
  • 3D CAD advanced knowledge, preferably PTC/CREO. Cabling and pipping is a differential
  • Knowledge in application of quality tools (Risk Analysis, RCA, FMEA, etc)
  • Clear in communication and cooperative with others
  • Flexibility to perform a wide range of tasks, and accepting new challenges, responsibilities and assignments

Would be a differential (well appreciated):

  • International and multi-cultural experience with a global and cross functional organization
  • Knowledge in systems like pneumatics, braking or suspension: electronic and conventional brake systems for commercial vehicles, pneumatics and routing, brackets and supports on sheet metal and castings
  • Knowledge of truck's systems and applications
  • Knowledge on Agile methodology
  • High interest in technology development
  • Customer oriented
  • Open, organized and motivated attitude
