About the Tech Lead / Architect This role focuses on defining and evolving our sophisticated microservices architecture, establishing architectural patterns, and leading technical initiatives across frontend, backend, and infrastructure teams. Key Responsibilities Design, evolve, and govern a scalable microservices architecture , including service boundaries and integration patterns. Define and enforce architectural standards , coding guidelines, and best practices across engineering teams. Evaluate, select, and standardize technologies, frameworks, and tooling aligned with long-term platform strategy. Create reusable architectural patterns , reference implementations, and clearly defined golden paths . Produce and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation , including ADRs, system diagrams, and technical specifications. Technical Leadership & Collaboration Partner with frontend, backend, and DevOps teams to ensure architectural alignment and consistency. Participate in architectural and design reviews, providing guidance on complex technical decisions. Mentor senior engineers and serve as a technical leader across the organization. Lead architecture reviews, technical workshops, and internal knowledge-sharing sessions. Contribute to the technical roadmap , platform evolution strategy, and technology adoption decisions. Design platform-wide performance optimization strategies , including caching, scalability patterns, and resource efficiency. Define security architecture baselines , covering authentication, authorization, and data protection. Architect end-to-end observability solutions , including metrics, logging, monitoring, and distributed tracing. Identify, prioritize, and drive remediation of technical debt across the platform. Proactively identify architectural risks and design mitigation strategies to ensure system reliability and resilience. Design and enforce tenant isolation , data security, and boundary enforcement mechanisms. Define tenant-aware routing, schema management, and data access patterns. Architect tenant validation frameworks, authorization checks, and security controls. Ensure scalable resource allocation and performance optimization in a multi-tenant environment. Define service boundaries, domain models, and inter-service communication patterns. Design and govern RESTful and GraphQL APIs , including versioning and integration strategies. Architect event-driven systems , including message queues and asynchronous processing. Define service mesh patterns such as service discovery, load balancing, and circuit breakers. Design AWS cloud architecture, including multi-account strategies and cost optimization. Define Infrastructure as Code standards using Terraform, including secure state management. Architect containerization and orchestration strategies. Design secure and scalable CI/CD pipelines , deployment strategies, and environment promotion models. Observability Architecture Design distributed tracing solutions using OpenTelemetry and Jaeger. Define metrics, dashboards, and alerting strategies using Prometheus and Grafana. Establish structured logging, log aggregation, and analysis standards. Define SLOs, error budgets, and reliability targets across services. Critical Architectural Challenges to Address Security : JWT validation, tenant isolation, rate limiting, input validation, credential management. Performance : Connection pooling, caching strategies, query optimization, frontend performance budgets. Observability : End-to-end tracing, correlation IDs, metrics completeness, alerting maturity. Multi-Tenancy : Prevent cross-tenant access and enforce strong validation mechanisms. You will lead the architectural design and execution of solutions addressing these challenges. Service-Specific Architecture Ownership API Gateway : Routing, security, performance, and observability patterns. Identity Service : OAuth2, JWT, RBAC, multi-tenant authentication and authorization. GraphQL Services : Schema design, resolver optimization, query performance, and security controls. RFQ & Workflow Services : Event-driven procurement workflows and integrations. Data Upload Services : Streaming, memory optimization, scalability, and security controls. AI Services : Secure and scalable AI integrations, async processing, tenant isolation, and performance optimization. Required Experience & Skills Core Architecture Expertise (Must Have) Microservices Architecture : Design and evolution of distributed systems; service (text incomplete). Multi-Tenancy Patterns : Schema-per-tenant architecture, tenant isolation, data security, tenant-aware routing, infrastructure as code strategies. Large-Scale Systems : 100,000+ lines of code, complex business logic, enterprise patterns. Distributed Systems : Service mesh, service discovery, distributed tracing, circuit breakers. Performance Engineering : Query optimization, caching strategies, load balancing, scalability patterns. Security Architecture : OAuth2/JWT, RBAC, data encryption, audit logging, security baselines.
