Development Architect

Development Architect (m/f/d) Business Data Cloud Technology Office at SAP. You will be part of the central architecture team that owns end-to-end responsibility for SAP's data management strategy, forming the backbone of the SAP platform and product portfolio. You will help shape the future of our fully managed cloud service (SaaS) as a member of the Business Data Cloud Technology Office.

You will work in a diverse and distributed team, driving architecture and technology strategy into actual project work and execution, together with the SAP BDC&I and LoB development organizations. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and business partners to understand scenarios, align concepts, and drive adoption of architecture across SAP.

• Define the general and future architecture for the BDC&I cloud platform and service, working with leading-edge technologies.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders and business partners to understand scenarios and needs, and align concepts within the unit and across SAP.
• Create and develop required organizational and process networks within development in conjunction with product management to pave the way for adoption of concepts by development teams.
• Lead and align architecture topics across the company via the central architecture alignment board.
• Drive architecture and technology strategy into project work with the SAP BDC&I and LoB development organizations.
• Contribute to LoB adoption for the new Business Data Cloud service and data products.
• Operate with an enterprise customer mindset in a flexible environment with highly skilled professionals.

• Desire to work on cloud-based platform, analytics, data management, and data integration technologies, including Lakehouse architectures and data fabric topics.
• Experience with Spark and Object Store technologies to support Lakehouse architecture.
• Knowledge of LoB-specific data platform development projects.
• Track record of adapting quickly to new environments, balancing tradeoffs, and thinking pragmatically with a long-term view.
• Ability to leverage AI technologies for data management and analytics and contribute to technical building blocks for SAP's global Business AI.
• Experience in data integration technologies (SAP and non-SAP data, data lakes) and enterprise applications.
• Proven track record as an architect with analytics and data management engineering teams; experience leading data warehousing projects is a plus.
• Practical experience operating cloud-scale services in production, focusing on scaling and resilience.
• Excellent presentation, public speaking, and communication skills; ability to influence at C-suite level.
• Self-motivated with a positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work quickly.
• Strong experience in large-scale software development and architectural tasks; deep cloud environment knowledge; strong customer and partner orientation.
• Degree in Computer Science or related field.
