About this role We are looking for a highly skilled backend engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for building scalable, reliable and maintainable applications using modern architecture patterns and cloud-based solutions. They will thrive in writing clean code, leveraging cloud services and solving complex challenges. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining our Ruby on Rails applications with a focus on scalability and performance. They will also work closely with the front-end, DevOps and QA teams to deliver robust end-to-end solutions. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field; or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of experience in back-end development using Ruby on Rails. Strong experience with AWS services such as Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS and API Gateway. Hands-on experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments. Solid understanding of serverless architectures and AWS Lambda functions. Experience designing and consuming RESTful and GraphQL APIs. Knowledge of PostgreSQL, Redis and background job frameworks (Sidekiq, Resque). Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments. Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies and proficiency using Jira and Confluence for project tracking. Strong debugging, problem-solving and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
