About the role

Alcoa is seeking a Production Operator A to join our team at the Alumina Reduction Unit in São Luís do Maranhão.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace;
  • Open, close, and drill the 'mouth' of the pots;
  • Remove burnoff, perform extra exchanges, and add sacks;
  • Re-tighten clamps, check anode contact, and track exchanged anodes;
  • Perform coal powder foaming;
  • Operate utility crane, siphon cleaning machine, WL machine, and crucible cleaning machine.

Qualifications and skills

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Desirable: Participation in Alumar's Operator Training Program, e.g., Youth Apprentice;
  • Desirable: Basic knowledge of MS Office;
  • Availability to work in shifts.
