**About the role**:Join our team as a Risk Decision Scientist and play a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity of the Uber platform. You will leverage your data-driven expertise to identify, analyze, and mitigate emerging fraud trends. Through statistical analysis and creative problem-solving, you will contribute to the development of robust strategies that minimize fraud losses while ensuring operational efficiency and a seamless user experience.Your analytical prowess and business acumen will be instrumental in driving data-informed decisions and shaping the future of risk management at Uber.**What you will do**:- Help build sophisticated identity solutions to enable Uber to grow its business globally by analyzing key data assets.- Develop and monitor strategic metrics and understand all underlying drivers.- Design and run experiments to analyze the impact of product changes.- Deep dive into data to evaluate proposed product changes and identify opportunities for improving the user experience.- Collaborate with product managers, engineers, operations managers and other business leaders to make decisions based on data insights and experiment results for key performance metrics related to fraud detection and false positives optimizatio- Communicate your findings to cross functional peers and management.- Your analytical prowess and business acumen will be instrumental in driving data-informed decisions and shaping the future of risk management at Uber.**Basic qualifications**:- Advanced SQL expertise.- Experience launching multiple experiments (such as A/B experiments) and an understanding of experimental design and using statistical methods in exploratory analysis.- Problem solving- Experience with dashboarding / data visualization (i.e. Google Data Studio, Tableau, Mixpanel, Looker or similar).- Recent Bachelor and/or Master graduate in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related quantitative field concluded from July/2023 to Sep/2024.- 2-year Data Science work experience- Advanced English**Preferred qualifications**:- Experience in improving products, understanding user journeys and extracting insights from data.- Ability to work in a self-guided manner.- Communication and organization skills.- Experience using Python or R.- While experience with machine learning techniques is a valuable asset, this role primarily focuses on statistical analysis, fraud detection, and risk management rather than specific model development or deployment.
