Job Duties Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products. Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design. Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements. Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solve complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems using advanced engineering tools. Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees. Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross‑disciplinary teams. Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions. Works across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India). Works close to the Electrical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC). Qualifications Completion of a master’s degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline is preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 2 years of experience in R&D. Experience in design solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multi‑disciplines is desirable. Experience in design solutions for well intervention applications involving multi‑disciplines is desirable. Prepare and deliver project status reports regularly to various stakeholders. Experience in project planning and monitoring. Coordinates with project leads to deliver on project scope, schedule, and services. Familiarity with Risk Assessment and FMEA. Working knowledge of electronic circuit design and commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD, etc.) applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G or aerospace) is desired. Knowledge in designing system automation using robotics is desirable. Knowledge in designing models, control design and simulation of electrical and mechanical systems with standard software (Matlab, LabVIEW, ROS, PLC software). Knowledge in different aspects of control system design, signal processing and analyses, feedback loops & system dynamics. Knowledge in ROV activities, subsea inspection and autonomous underwater systems is desirable.
